Minutes of Digital Earth Cluster Telecon - Mar 8

Rob Raskin (OceanESIP), Ken Keiser (UAH), Howard Burrows (Federation), Bob Downs (CIESIN), Bob Chen (CIESIN), Ruixin Yang (GMU), Greg Yetman (CIESIN), Jamie Smedson (TerraSIP), Liping Di (GMU) The OGC Demo went very well. The demo was of a simulated emergency response to a disaster in New York City. About 12 vendors/clients participated, including Liping Di (WCS), UAH Space-Time Tookit (WMS/WCS), Jeff DeLaBeaujardiere, ESRI, PCI/Geomatics (WCS download), and Intergraph. Data included MODIS, GOES weather, New York Basemap, and LandSAT.

We discussed two topics related to the Spring Federation Meeting:

Technical Workshop
Due to the short time frame, we concluded that we should downscale the Workshop and perhaps have it only on Thursday and Friday. We would schedule a second one in the Fall, if there is sufficient demand.

Demo for the May meeting
The WMS demo will be part of the Internet demo held on Thursday afternoon. It will not be part of the Showcase to the general public on Wednesday, as that is being restricted to individual ESIPs. We'll have a telecon on April 22 for those interested in participating. The theme is Demo is left open - it depends on what data and viewers we have available by that time.
